An estimate, not a guarantee.
This assumes a healthy applicant in their 30s to 40s, 20-year level term. It is education, not a quote, an application, a tax return or legal advice. Full details are in the disclosures.
Protected With Love provides insurance sales, tax preparation and ACA Marketplace enrollment guidance. This website, the calculator and the membership are for general education only and are not a quote, an application, a tax return or legal, tax or investment advice. Calculator results are estimates and do not reflect underwriting, your specific health class or your actual tax situation. Krystal Londono is a licensed life and health insurance producer (National Producer Number 16261381), licensed in all 50 states, and a certified tax strategist. This website is not an offer of insurance in any state where she is not licensed. Actual insurance premiums depend on age, health, state and the issuing carrier. Growth projections for indexed products are hypothetical, are not guaranteed, and are subject to caps, floors and participation rates set by the carrier. Tax preparation services are provided under a separate engagement; nothing on this site is a substitute for a personalized return prepared with your actual documents.
Two paths
One licensed professional, two very different jobs.
Protection replaces income if something happens to you. Growth builds a tax-free bucket for later. Most families use both, at different times.
Protect my family
Keep the house, keep the bills paid.
Term life, mortgage protection and final expense are not about you, they are about the people who would otherwise have to figure it out. A coverage gap you can see is a coverage gap you can close.
IUL and annuities are not investments and they are not guaranteed to outperform anything, but the growth inside them can be accessed without the tax bill a 401(k) eventually sends you.
The questions people actually ask, answered plainly.
Protected With Love is free to browse, and Krystal answers every one of these the same way on a call.
Is Protected With Love actually free to use?
Yes. The calculator, the free membership, the courses, the tools and the community cost nothing. There is no card on file and no trial that converts to a paid plan. The only paid services are the ones you choose, like a specific insurance policy or a tax return engagement.
How much does life insurance actually cost?
It depends on your age, health class, coverage amount and the length of the term, so there is no single answer. The calculator gives a planning estimate for a healthy applicant in their 30s to 40s. A real quote takes about 10 minutes on the free strategy session, and there is no obligation to buy anything.
How does the calculator actually work?
You pick a path, protect my family or grow tax-free, then set a monthly number and a number of years. For protection, it multiplies your monthly income by 12 and by the years to get a coverage target, then estimates a monthly cost. For growth, it compounds your monthly amount at an assumed rate. Both are estimates, not quotes.
Is Protected With Love right for me if I already have some coverage?
Yes, and it is often more useful then, because you can compare what you already have against the number the calculator gives you and see the gap, if any. It is not the right fit if you are looking for investment advice or a guaranteed return, since Krystal sells insurance and tax preparation, not securities.
What is the difference between term life, whole life and final expense?
Term life covers you for a set number of years at the lowest cost, and is usually the right fit for income replacement while a mortgage or kids are in the picture. Whole life lasts your whole life and builds cash value at a higher cost. Final expense is a smaller, easier-to-qualify-for policy meant to cover funeral and end-of-life costs, not to replace income.
What is an IUL and how is it different from a 401(k)?
An indexed universal life policy is life insurance with cash value that can grow based on an index like the S&P 500, with a floor so you do not lose value in a down year and a cap that limits the upside. A 401(k) is a retirement account invested directly in the market, with no floor and no cap, and withdrawals are taxed as ordinary income. Loans and withdrawals from a well-funded IUL are generally not taxed while the policy stays in force.
What happens after I use the calculator?
You can see your number without giving any information. If you join free, your number is saved to a dashboard you can track, and you get access to the courses, tools and community. From there, you can message Krystal or book the free 30-minute strategy session whenever you want, with no pressure to do either.
How do I reach a real person?
Call or text (561) 786-7171, email protectedbykrystal@gmail.com, or book the free 30-minute strategy session from your free member dashboard once you join.
Is Krystal Londono actually licensed?
Yes. Krystal is a licensed life and health insurance producer in all 50 states, National Producer Number 16261381, and a certified tax strategist with over 16 years of experience as an independent broker with access to more than 20 carriers.
Do you help with taxes too, or only insurance?
Both. Protected With Love prepares personal and business tax returns, including LLC and S-Corp filings, and offers IRS resolution services, alongside life and health insurance. The free membership includes courses and tools for both sides.
What states does Protected With Love serve?
Krystal is licensed to sell insurance in all 50 states and works with clients remotely nationwide. In-person meetings are available in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties in South Florida.
Can I get ACA health insurance through Protected With Love?
Yes. ACA Marketplace enrollment is one of Krystal's core services, including checking whether you qualify for a subsidy based on household size and income. This calculator does not quote ACA plans directly, use the separate ACA coverage page to start that conversation.
Will using the calculator sign me up for anything?
No. Seeing your number does not create an account, does not sign you up for insurance, and does not submit any application. Joining the free membership only creates a member account. Nothing is purchased or applied for without a separate conversation and your explicit sign off.
How much life insurance do I actually need?
A common starting point is enough to replace your income for as long as your family would need it, plus anything that pays off the mortgage. The calculator's protection path does exactly this math using your monthly income and a number of years you choose.
Is the growth in an IUL or annuity actually guaranteed?
No. The growth number is a hypothetical projection based on an assumed crediting rate, and actual results depend on the index's performance, the specific policy's caps, floors and participation rates, which are set by the carrier and can change. No product or carrier is named or guaranteed by this calculator.
What is mortgage protection insurance and do I need a separate policy for it?
Mortgage protection insurance is a type of life or disability coverage designed specifically to pay off or pay down a mortgage if you die or become disabled. It can be a standalone policy or accomplished with a properly sized term life policy, which is often less expensive for the same protection.
What is final expense insurance?
Final expense insurance is a smaller whole life policy, usually $5,000 to $25,000, meant to cover funeral costs, medical bills and other end-of-life expenses without leaving that burden to your family. It is generally easier to qualify for than larger policies, including for older applicants.
Can I run the numbers for someone else, like a parent or a spouse?
Yes. Nothing in the calculator requires the plan to be about you personally. Many members run a number for a spouse's income or a parent's final expense costs and save it to compare later.
How is Protected With Love different from an insurance comparison website?
Comparison sites collect your information and sell it to multiple agents who then call you. Protected With Love is one independent broker with access to more than 20 carriers, so you get one relationship and one point of contact, not a flood of calls.
Do you offer annuities and fixed indexed annuities too?
Yes. Annuities and fixed indexed annuities are part of Krystal's insurance offerings, alongside life insurance and IUL. The growth path in this calculator applies the same honest, floor-and-cap style math whether the eventual product is an IUL or an annuity.
What is the free 30-minute strategy session actually like?
It is a conversation about your specific situation, your calculator number if you have one, and what options exist. No product is presented and no application is opened unless you ask for one. You can book it from your free member dashboard once you join, or request one from the intake form.
Can a business owner use Protected With Love for business tax prep?
Yes. Business tax preparation for LLCs and S-Corps is one of Krystal's core services, alongside personal returns and IRS resolution. The membership includes a course and tools built specifically for business owners.
What does IRS resolution mean?
IRS resolution covers help with back taxes, notices, payment plans and other issues with the IRS after a return has already been filed. It is a separate engagement from routine tax preparation and starts with a conversation about your specific notice or balance.
How is my information kept private?
Your calculator answers and any information you submit are used to respond to you and, if you consent, to follow up about your request. Details are in the privacy policy. Protected With Love does not sell your information to other agents or brokers.
Do I need good health to qualify for life insurance?
Good health generally lowers your cost, but it is not required to get coverage. Simplified issue and guaranteed issue policies exist for people with health conditions, and final expense policies in particular are built to be accessible for older applicants and common conditions.
What happens to my saved number if I do not join right away?
If you save a plan without joining, you get a private link to come back to. If you never save it or return, nothing is kept beyond what was needed to show you the result on screen that day.
Can I change my answers after I see my number?
Yes, at any time. Selecting adjust my answers reopens the calculator with your previous choices in place, and running a new number never overwrites a plan you already saved unless you choose to update it.
What if my number seems too high or too low to be realistic?
The calculator is a starting point, not a final answer. If a number surprises you, that is exactly what the free strategy session is for, to talk through the assumptions and adjust them to your actual situation.
Should I get life insurance through my employer instead?
Employer group life insurance is often a good, low-cost starting point, but it usually ends the day you leave the job and the coverage amount is rarely enough to fully replace your income. Most people benefit from a personal policy alongside any employer coverage, which is portable and stays in force regardless of where you work.
Is an IUL better than investing in the stock market?
They do different jobs and are not a direct substitute for each other. The stock market has more upside potential and more downside risk. An IUL trades some of that upside for a floor that protects against losses in a down year, plus the tax treatment of life insurance. Most people who use both are protecting a portion of their savings, not replacing their whole investment strategy.
How long does it take to get approved for life insurance?
Simplified issue policies with no medical exam can be approved in a matter of days. Fully underwritten policies with a medical exam typically take two to six weeks, depending on the carrier and how quickly records come back. Krystal will tell you which applies before you apply.
What is a certified tax strategist, and is that different from a CPA?
A certified tax strategist focuses on proactive tax planning, structuring income and deductions ahead of filing, rather than only preparing a return after the fact. It is a different credential from a CPA, and Krystal's work is best understood as planning-forward tax preparation, not an audit or attestation service.
Do the courses and tools cost anything once I join?
No. All eight courses and all nineteen tools are included in the free membership, with no upgrade tier and no paywall inside the member area.
Can I get a certificate for finishing a course?
Yes. Each course ends with a short quiz, and passing it at 70% or better issues a printable certificate with a unique code, shown on your dashboard and on the certificate page.
What is the live room in the membership?
It is a page inside the free membership where Krystal hosts occasional live sessions, streamed from YouTube or Vimeo, that members can watch without leaving the site or signing in anywhere else. Sessions appear there once scheduled.
Is there a minimum age to join the free membership?
You must be 18 or older to create a member account, since the membership involves saving personal financial information and requesting insurance or tax conversations. A parent or guardian can complete the calculator or the intake form on behalf of a minor's needs.
Can I cancel my free membership account?
Yes, at any time, from your profile settings or by contacting Krystal directly. There is no fee to cancel because there was never a fee to join.
What is the difference between a subsidy-eligible ACA plan and a private health plan?
An ACA Marketplace plan can come with a premium tax credit, or subsidy, based on your household size and income, which lowers your monthly cost. A private plan purchased outside the Marketplace is never eligible for that subsidy, even if the coverage looks similar. Whether you qualify, and by how much, depends on your specific household numbers.
When can I actually enroll in an ACA plan?
Open enrollment happens once a year on a set schedule set by CMS. Outside that window, you can only enroll if you have a qualifying life event, like losing other coverage, moving, marriage, or having a baby, which opens a special enrollment period. The membership's ACA course covers both in plain language.
Does using this calculator or joining the membership affect my ACA subsidy eligibility?
No. This calculator and the free membership are informational and do not report anything to CMS or any Marketplace. Actual ACA enrollment and subsidy eligibility are handled separately, based on the household and income information you provide during that specific process.
What is a fixed indexed annuity, in plain language?
A fixed indexed annuity is a contract with an insurance company that can grow based on the performance of a market index, with a floor so a down year does not reduce your principal, in exchange for caps and participation rates that limit the upside and, usually, a surrender schedule if you withdraw early. It is designed for retirement income, not short-term savings.
What should I have ready before the free strategy session?
Nothing is required, but it helps to have a rough idea of your monthly income, any existing coverage, your mortgage balance if relevant, and, for tax questions, your most recent return. Krystal will tell you exactly what documents are needed if the conversation moves toward an application or an engagement.
